MMK has become a winner of The Main Event in the Russian Steel Industry competition
For the first time in the history of the exhibition an awarding of winners of The Main Event in the Russian Steel Industry competition took place at Metal-Expo’2011. Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works has been awarded for its tribute in the technological and innovative development of the industry due to commissioning of the cold rolling mill 2000. N. Lyadov, Deputy Director, MMK stated: “MMK is the oldest steel works in Russia with the most up-to-date facilities. We are proud of our achievements and are ready for new large-scale projects”.

MECHEL
120 heads of departments and specialists of Mechel and its enterprises formed one of the biggest delegations at Metal-Expo'2011
Mechel is awarded a few awards of the exhibition for development the most up-to-date equipment and technologies, as well as mastering new types of high-quality products. Beloretsk Steel Works is awarded a gold medal for mastering technology of reinforced welded profile B-500C manufacture for iron and concrete structures reinforcement and a silver medal for mastering technology of manufacture of welded bright wire with special coating. Chelyabinsk Steel Works is awarded gold medal for development and mastering of technologies of melting, out-of-furnace treatment, and casting on a continuous casting machine low-carbon billets with silicon mass fraction up to 0.03%. Uralkuz became a winner for development and mastering of technologies of forged merchant rods of structural and tool stainless steels as well as heat-resisting steels and alloys. 120 Mechel employees presented on the corporate stand a whole range of steel and wire mesh products of all the enterprises of the group. Visitors showed high interest in Mechel products including wire mesh, long products, flats, forged and stamped products tec. A special interest was shown in products by Mechel enterprises located in Romania.

MMK is awarded three awards of the competition for The Best Internet Project of 2011 in the Steel Industry
An awarding ceremony of winners of The Best Internet Project in the Steel Industry’2011 was held at Metal-Expo’2011 in Moscow. MMK corporate website www.mmk.ru is awarded a few diplomas and prizes including Diploma for The Best Website Design, as well as diplomas of winners in nominations for Ergonomics, and The Best Website of 2011. A competitive jury voted for MMK website as a professionally designed system of management of all the internet projects of the group. MMK IT Department pointed out that the interface is simple enough for developers as well as users to manage the website in the nearest future. Due to this personnel training becomes easier and time is saved and fulfillment of routine tasks becomes a process of creation. In addition to this the new platform of the corporate website provides a good opportunity to integrate with corporate information system of the company making the website a powerful tool in the information structure of the Group.

Metalloinvest has become a winner of the competition among corporate publications for the 4th time
Newspapers of 3 enterprises (part of Metalloinvest group) and Mikhailovsk Mining and Dressing Plant TV studio have won in the competition for The Best Corporate Publications in the Russian and the CIS Steel Industries’2011. Kamsk Iron Ore newspaper (Mikhailovsk Mining and Dressing Plant) and Workers’ Tribune (Lebedinsk Mining and Dressing Plant) were awarded Diplomas of winners of the competition for The Best Publication in the Mining Industry Metallurg newspaper (Urals Steel) has become a winner in the nomination The Best Publication among Steel Enterprises. Mikhailovsk Mining and Dressing Plant TV studio is awarded a diploma in the nomination The Best Electronic Corporate Mass Media.

Ruukki traditionally participates in the event. The exhibition provides a good opportunity to strengthen old contacts and arrange meeting with new ones. NOVAEM GROUP OF COMPANIES
For the first time during Metal Week in Moscow the Group presented new assets: Alapaevsk Steel Plant and Morshanskkhimmash. Every year Novaem Group’s exposition brings together machine-builders and their customers. This year professionals in the industry showed a special interest in the tubes welding mill commissioned in July 2011 at Sibenergomash. As before high interest was shown in the traditional products of the Group: power engineering equipment. Trubmash held a number of meetings on tubular products supplies. In the recent years the company has switched to sales of insulated products of oil and gas range. Due to this, the number of potential customers and supplies volumes have grown considerably. For the first time at Metal-Expo Morshanskkhimmash announced itself as part of the Group. The company held a number of meetings with old as well as new potential customers. Loyal customers were mainly interested in the new range of products presented by the machine-building company from Morshansk. Morshanskkhimmash was presented at the exhibition not only as a supplier, but also as a user of equipment. The participation in the exhibition for them has been twice as efficient. Alapaevsk Steel Plant presented ferromanganese as their main type of product. A forthcoming commissioning of the blast-furnace was one of the main topics of the meetings held by the Plant. K. Ryabov, Director General, Novaem Group stated that the Group held a big number of meetings and received many orders during the exhibition.

Nordinkraft-Sensor presented 2 new products at metal-Expo’2011: emission spectrometer NK 5001 a system of online analysis of chemical composition of melted metals. The company held meetings with its loyal customers as well as some new potential customers interested in the company’s products.

SEVERSTAL
Severstal, one of the biggest in the world vertically integrated steel-melting and mining enterprises participated in Metal-Expo’2011, the largest in Russia specialized exhibition for metal and steel industry. This year the Severstal exposition consisted on 2 main topics: Smart Steel (steels with unique properties used in ship-building, the automotive industry, bridge building etc.) and Severstal People presented in Severstal promo film awarded by Metal-Expo in nomination Jury’s Special Opinion. Traditionally, the company presents a wide range of products for various industries. Severstal-Metiz (part of Severstal Russian Steel) presented a wide range of products for construction including unique profiles, netting structures, fasteners etc. Although many of them are innovations in the Russian building industry, they are successfully used in the largest domestic and international projects.

This year Sevzapmetall for the first time participated in Metal-Expo. Our stand designed as a summer café was popular among visitors. Uraltrubprom presented not only the whole range of tubular products, but also steel structures and easily assembling buildings. A. Novokreshenov, Head of Marketing, Uraltrbrom stated that the company’s expectations in the exhibition had been generally fulfilled: the company held meetings with its key customers from all over Russia, made plans for the forthcoming year, discussed ways of cooperation etc. For the first time the company participated with 2 stands for products for the construction sector was presented as a separate exposition.
