Kalugin JSC was founded in 2000 in Ekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk Region, Russian Federation) and at present the company ranks among the world leaders in development of blast heating technologies and invention of high-temperature hot-air stoves for blast furnaces which are used at iron and steel works in Russia and abroad. The company became internationally known due to application of the unique technology invented by Iakov Kalugin, Doctor of Engineering Sciences and the company founder. By now the unique design of the top combustion hot stove called KSS after its inventor (Kalugin Shaftless Stove) has been patented in Russia, China and Ukraine and is being patented in some other countries of the world. This hot stove design is characterized by high reliability and sustainability and small capital expenditures for construction. Nowadays Kalugin Shaftless Stoves (KSS) can provide heating of blast up to 1400 C.

The first Kalugin Shaftless Stoves were constructed in Russia for Nizhniy Tagil Iron and Steel Works, Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works and Severstal. In foreign countries the biggest number of Kalugin Shaftless Stoves was installed in China. The projects of KSS construction were implemented in Japan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, India; KSS are being constructed in Turkey, Syria, Indonesia and Brazil. In total more than 150 KSS are already in operation and more than 50 KSS are being designed and constructed.

The company continuously improves the design of the hot stoves, their technical, economic and environmental performance. It provides engineering, construction and maintenance of its hot stoves.
