Metal-Expo’2020: Time of the Brave

The last before the event Metal-Expo’2020 Organizing Committee meeting was held in Moscow on October 29. The members of the Committee discussed online the events which will be held in parallel to the exhibition on November 10-13 at VDNHa fairground, Moscow.

Since July Metal-Expo Management had attended more than 10 offline events among them those related to preparation of the Autumn Metal Week in Moscow. “Organizers of Metal-Expo’2020 events have gathered together today to discuss details and the recent requirements of ROSPOTREBNADZOR. Metal-Expo’2020 website is visited by 2-4k professionals daily which speaks for a high popularity of the event”, said A. Romanov, Co-Chairman of Metal-Expo’2020 Organizing Committee. V. Cherepov, Vice President, RUIE, and Director of Dept for Cooperation with Regional and Industrial Unions continued speaking  about the recent exhibitions held all over the country pointing out that the events held in Moscow and the Moscow region were not planned to shut down.

“This year’s event will be unusual due to masks and gloves, sanitizers, social distancing, and social seating. The hall and the stands will be daily sanitized not to mention that all the surfaces will be thoroughly cleaned every two hours. We need to keep sanity and yet follow the requirements of ROSPOTREBNADZOR”, added A. Efimov, General Manager of Metal-Expo Exhibition.

For certain reasons among them inner corporate bans on business trips and attending mass events, not all who want to attend the event will manage it this year. Nevertheless, the exhibition will bring together the leading steel companies, tubes producers, hardware manufacturers, aluminium producers, steel traders and processers, as well as major steel products users, among them: builders, heavy engineers, oil and gas producers, as well as logistics and transportation companies. The whole range of contemporary materials, the most state-of-the-art equipment and solutions for the steel industry and metalworking, as well as steel products for steel consuming industries will be exhibited.

About 1k professionals representing 230 Russian and 70 international companies will attend to their stands during the event. Hall 57, VDNHa will exhibit leading steel producers and steel structures manufacturers while hall 55 will exhibit engineering companies.

Exhibitors and visitors can participate in hard-driving events held in parallel to the exhibition on the most pressing problems of all the segments of the steel industry, metalworking, heavy engineering, metal trading, etc. Presentations, reports, meetings, panel discussions, and professional experience exchanges during the Autumn Metal Week in Moscow will help market players take in the situation and make right decisions.

“Those who really want to get a line on the recent developments of the industry will visit the exhibition, no idlers will be there”, concluded V. Polkin, General Manager, Zinc Development Center.

The steel producers’ forum this year is held under unprecedented conditions of extreme market volatility caused by the pandemic. The new reality teaches market players to be demand-responsive considering various scenarios and instantly react to any changes in the environment either positive or negative. In this respect it is hard to overestimate the importance of direct business dialogue. “Some 90% want to attend offline events longing for real communication”, confirmed K. Korystylyov, Head of the Board, The Association of Steel Smelters by TSNIITMASH.

The present requires readiness for any scenario. The time of the brave ready to exchange experiences, updated forecasts, best corporate solutions, as well as innovative ideas and practices has come and Metal-Expo is a perfect platform for it.
