Nizhnaya Salda metallurgical plant is the largest enterprise specializing in the manufacture of parts of the upper structure of the railway path. The factory was founded in 1760. In November 2014, the plant became part of the company Metallinvest.
Main production is carried out in 2 departments:
- Rolling mill - the capacity of 441 thousand tons, the view of the workpiece - continuously-cast billet;
- The rail fasteners mill - power 204,3 thousand tons, production - rail fastening.
