Coated steels market players discussed the most pressing problems

Galvanized and Coated Rolled Products: Trends in Production and Use’2011, 6th International Conference was held on March 24-25 in Moscow. This year around 170 major Russian and international steel producers, consumers and coated steel processing companies participated in the event which is by 1/3 more as compared to the last year.
On the first day of the conference during panel discussions held in Renaissance Hotel, Moscow 20 speakers spoke about the most pressing problems of the galvanized and coated steels markets including development of production facilities in Russia, competitiveness of domestic products, growing threat from imports and antidumping investigations caused by it etc. Delegates of the conference displayed keen interest in S. Maslennikov’s, Chairman, RUMSS Committee for Promotion of Coated Steels in the Russian Market presentation of Program on Stimulating of Use of Coated Steels in Construction.
The second day of the conference was dedicated to a plant tour. The delegates of the conference visited coated steel plants located in the Kaluga region including Kaluga Electric Steels Plant, Agrisovgaz, Severstal-Gonvarri, and Servestal-Gestamp-Kaluga.
