Development of Steel Industry to Focus on Interests of Consumers

A session of Organizing Committee of Metal-Expo’2009, International Industrial Exhibition was held in Moscow on November 4.

The majority of the members of the Committee agreed with the decision that had been made in the beginning of 2008 to change the venue of the exhibition for Crocus Expo due to its modern infrastructure. International companies which see their development in strengthening their positions in the Russian market will for sure apply for participation in Metal-Expo’2009. Metal-Expo will attract new suppliers of technologies of metal and steel products finishing and development of steel service centers becoming an exhibition for modern technologies and scientific and technical achievements rather than a mere trade show.

Metal-Expo’2009 will focus on interests of consumers including machine-building companies, companies engaged in defense complex, aerospace industry, machine-tool manufacture, fuel and energy complex etc. Thus, heavy machine-building companies together with automotive plants traditionally participate in Metal-Expo.

The Organizing Committee discussed not only new ways of cooperation among different brnched of industry, actual topics of conferences to be held during Metal-Expo’2009 such as nanotechnologies in the steel industry, metal and steel products for fuel and energy complex etc, but also the procedures of the conferences.

Mr. A. Svinarenko, a newly elected Co-Chairman of the Organizing Committee called for complex development of the exhibition and updating of its program of events: «We need to change the structure yet retain the idea. The idea is that we offer a package. More attention should be paid not to trading of technologies rather than metal and steel. Bearing this in mind we should change the topics of the conferences. The topics should reflect the real situation of the economy including changes in the market structures and output, reducing of expenses, increase in production etc. We should use online conferences, make them available to everyone. We need to find new ways of conference conducting to increase the efficiency».
